History of the Oceanografie Club - HOC

 The (Dutch) ‘Historie van de Oceanografie Club’, or HOC was initiated in 2005 in the Netherlands. The objectives are to:
  •  share common interests in the history of oceanography, in particular (but not only!) Dutch oceanography;
  •  stimulate exchange and dissemination of related information;
  •  assist in accessing sources of information;
  •  stimulate (research) projects;
  •  organise meetings.

    ‘Members’ and others interested the history of oceanography receive HOC's newsletter 'ad HOC' by e-mail. Most members originate from The Netherlands and Belgium, but an increasing number come from other counties. Many have/had a professional career in one of the oceanography related disciplines, but expertise/interests are very diverse.

    In principle all interested in the history of oceanography are invited to join HOC: send an e-mail (see contact) and you will be on the list. Of course, contributions to the newsletter 'ad HOC' are welcomed.
